We create DREAM ROOM MAKEOVERS and RENOVATIONS for children who have experienced DEVASTATION in their young lives.

The rooms are donated at no charge as a way to share God’s love with the child and their family. Our goal is to improve the quality of life of the child and their caregivers by providing long-term solutions that focus on health and wellness. This is achieved via medical equipment, computer technology, sensory integration, and color theory.

aesthetic makeover

Children who have experienced Devastation benefit from having a safe, happy place that provides feelings of security & inspires personal growth in a place of their own. These dream rooms let children know they are Loved and Valued. Aesthetic makeovers do not include construction and are typically completed over a long weekend.

sensory experience

Children with Sensory Processing Disorders may either Seek or Avoid things that stimulate the 5 senses. medical equipment

Many children need medical equipment that insurance or other social services will not provide. Lift systems, wheelchairs, shower chairs, and other devices provide physical and emotional relief for the child and their caregivers. The equipment is provided as part of a larger renovation which typically takes up to 3 weeks.

Volunteers Needed: 25 - 35

Budget: $8,000 - $15,000

bathroom renovation

Bathrooms are the biggest challenge for handicap children and their caregivers. Designing ADA accessible bathrooms allow independence in bathing, hand washing, teeth brushing, and potty use. These typically take 2-3 weeks to complete in conjunction with the child’s bedroom.

Volunteers Needed: 30 - 50

Budget: $18,000 - $25,000

legacy project

Legacy Projects give KDM the opportunity to provide a makeover for  another community organization who also serves children of Devastation. These projects impact the lives of multiple children, both now and for many years  into the future. They adhere to commercial codes and may include light construction and specialty trades such as electrical, framing, carpentry, and flooring.

Volunteers Needed: 20 - 30

Budget: $20,000 - $35,000
